This repository has a two fold purpose. One, to keep a record of the watercolor, water soluble oil and colored pencil pieces I paint and their evolution. Secondly, to maintain a record of my past, and possibly future, writings.

"Little Blue" Evolution Part 3

"Little Blue" was created on a full sheet of Arches 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. Here you can see I have applied my frisket and laid down several washes.

Several close-ups of the cattails. Trying to create a 'fuzzy' texture was fun.

You can see the frisket I dropped in the lower right hand corner. Using a lot of frisket and blowing through a straw I created, I hope, 'bird droppings'. This was to reinforce the feeling of the outdoors.

Thanks for leaving your url on Pippa's blog. I can see why poor old Freda isn't getting much on her blog.

This sort of work must take AGES. I couldn't even being to start anything like that. How creative.

Hey Jim,

We just love your work. How does one go about obtaining a "James Original"?

Dad just loves your "Little Blue" sketches. He says you should check out his gallery HERE
